How to watch high quality Live Streaming Japanese TV programs on your PC

**Note: Due to the popularity of these Japanese stations, and the large numbers of users trying to view the channels at once, the channels introduced on this page will work sometimes, but will not work if the channel is too overcrowded. You can still try to view them, but I cannot guarantee if it is viewable depending on how many people are trying to access the channels at once**

Times have changed and it is now possible to watch live streaming television programs straight from Japan. You may already know a program called “KeyHole TV” which was poplar in the past to watch streaming Japanese TV, but the video quality was absolutely Horrible.

Livestation.com has released a media player program that enables pc users to view live streaming TV programs from around the world in High Quality format. You will definitely be satisfied with what you see.

So far, Livestation.com streams the following Japanese channels:

  • TBS
  • Asahi TV
  • Nippon TV

The program itself is easy to install, but to add the channels is a little tricky so here are the instructions:

Step 1:

Go to www.livestation.com and click on the “Download” tab

Step 2:

Select an operating system. Windows, Mac, or Linux

Step 3:

Run the installation program

Step 4:

Input your email address and a login password.

Make sure you check “I agree to the terms”.

Click “Create”.

step 4

Step 5:

With the Livestation program still open, in the Google search engine search for “livestation TBS”.

Click on the first result that appears – “TBS (Japan)”

Step 6:

When the page loads, Livestation will give you a 2minute preview of TBS (Japan). Once you confirmed this, click on the blue button on the right of the video    “+ Add to my Player”.

“TBS (Japan)” will now automatically be added to “My Channels” tab in the installed Livestation program.

Note: It will be labeled “Offline”, but don’t worry about it.

Step 7:

Do the same for TV Asahi:

Goolge search – “livestation asahi”

Do the same for Nippon TV:

Google search – “livestation NTV”

Delete all unused channels in “My Channels” tab.

NEW!    JapanChord TOP 4 RECOMMENDED lessons to improve your Japanese!

Rank         Lesson JapanChord Review:
1 Rocket Japanese This is for International students who want to learn Japanese quick, starting from the basics. I always recommend this to my students because
it has: Audio and Video lessons, self-quizzes, and a dedicated forum with Japanese teachers always online to give my students support 24/7
2 Speak Japanese Fluently I recommend this for students who don't like studying from textbooks, but want to engage in Japanese conversation right away. If you're the type
that falls asleep right away when trying to read a textbook, I recommend this to you. Learning through conversation is a valid method of inputting Japanese into your brain
3 Nihongo Japanese Video Lesson This is for students who want to learn the "street level" or "real world" way of talking in Japanese, Often times, text book conversation methods and the
real world conversation methods don't match. Avoid using dull textbook Japanese and start using real world Japanese with these lessons.
4 Japanese Proficiency Power I highly recommend this to my students who want to attend a public University in Japan. To be eligible to attend a university in Japan, the student needs a
Japanese proficiency level of 1 (5 being the lowest, 1 being the highest). This package is to assist the student in passing levels 5 & 4. This is a good starting point for
earning your education in Japan.

Japanchord.com is a site dedicated to spreading Japanese music internationally. All Japanese lyrics have been Romanized to the best of my ability to mimic the Japanese pronunciations. Learning Japanese songs is a great way to learn more about Japanese culture and also a great tool in learning the Japanese language.
